27th annual International Cycling History Conference (ICHC)
and sesquicentennial of bicycling

Saturday and Sunday June 25th and 26th free events open to all, bring your antique, old, modern bicycle and celebrate with us .

Man walked for hundreds of thousands of years, then he jumped on a bicycle and was able to get somewhere.  

Schedule

Free Public event June 25th Saturday
9am New Haven, Ct  Green  College and Chapel Sts:  short ride around New Haven
10am New Haven ,Ct  Green College and Chapel :   The Wheelmen give an oral history of bicycles 1818-1930 with demonstrations of    antique bicycles .
1pm  New Haven ,Ct Yale Lecture  TBA
3pm  Derby, Ct Green     Join Derby days festival The Wheelmen give an oral history of bicycles 1818-1930 with demonstrations of antique bicycles.
4pm  Derby, Ct Green  Retracing Pierre Lallement’s original ride  Derby to Ansonia and return  about 5miles       

Free Public Event June 26th Sunday 
9:00 am- 11:30 am Tour of New Haven start from Green (optional ride from Best Western down to green) .  Plan about a 10 mile ride around New Haven seeing the highlights and historic locations , ( James Earl  office building , Yale ,  Lallement plaque , ride in and around Green, cemetery under center Church in green, etc)   Encourage all to join the  ride , it is hoped that many Wheelmen and other with antique bicycles will participate. 

1:00pm Exhibit 150 years of bicycling in America opens (conference room Best Western Hotel, New Haven CT)

2:00 -5:00pm Guest lectures giving talks covering bicycling in America: Hobby Horse era, Velocipede era, High Wheel era, early safeties, contemporary.

International Cycling History Conference  (ICHC) registration required attendees only
